Modern Slavery Statement

Last updated: February 2026

1. Our commitment

Human Economics Ltd is committed to operating ethically, responsibly and ensuring that modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and other forms of exploitation have no place in our business. We are dedicated to protecting the rights and wellbeing of our employees, workers, and contractors, as well as maintaining high standards across our supply chain.

Although our annual turnover is below the £36 million threshold under the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and we are not legally required to publish a statement, we do so voluntarily to demonstrate our commitment to ethical business practices.

2. Our business

Human Economics is a UK-based consultancy working primarily in the research, innovation, culture and public policy sectors.

Our supply chain is relatively small and typically includes:

  • Independent consultants and associates

  • Professional advisers (legal, financial, IT)

  • Software and digital service providers

We do not operate in high-risk manufacturing or production industries. However, we recognise that risk can exist in any supply chain and remain vigilant.

3. Our People

We are committed to ensuring that all employees, workers and contractors are treated fairly, with dignity and respect. We take steps to prevent modern slavery and exploitation within our own operations, including:

  • Conducting Right to Work checks and verifying identity documentation

  • Providing clear terms of employment and fair pay in line with UK legislation

  • Maintaining policies and procedures that support ethical working practices

4. How we manage risk

We take proportionate steps to reduce the risk of modern slavery in our business, including:

  • Working primarily with UK-based suppliers and professionals

  • Using written contracts with associates and service providers

  • Carrying out basic due diligence on new suppliers

  • Avoiding informal or cash-based arrangements

Where we identify higher-risk suppliers, we will take additional steps to ensure appropriate standards are in place.

5. Policies and governance

We support ethical practice through:

  • Clear employment and contractor agreements

  • Transparent recruitment and fair pay practices

  • A culture that encourages openness and accountability

  • Confidential routes for raising concerns

Concerns can be reported to hello@humaneconomics.com.

5. Responsibility and review

Responsibility for this statement sits with the CEO.

We review our approach annually to ensure it remains appropriate for the scale and nature of our business.

Signed,
Tom Callahan
